#FinishYourStory
A powerful campaign marking 19 years since the death of Kiyan Prince and the start of Knife Crime Awareness Week.
Unfinished Stories / Rewriting the Future shone a light on the real impact of knife crime through two sets of letters. The first were unfinished, written from the imagined voices of young people who lost their lives, including Kiyan, Jonathan McMurray and Keelen Wong. Created with their families, the letters shared the dreams that were left behind.
The second set were complete, written by young people who once carried knives but changed their lives with help from the Kiyan Prince Foundation. These were stories of hope, showing what was possible with the right support.
Backed by new research, the campaign revealed that most young people believed the current approach to knife crime wasn’t working. It called for a new public health response – one that tackled the root causes through better mental health services, youth clubs and job opportunities.
